Robert Bosch GmbH’s Service Solutions unit has agreed to purchase LAWA Solutions GmbH, a Giessen, Germany-based startup that specializes in cloud-based software for roadside assistance and repair shops. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Bosch plans to integrate LAWA’s technology into its own platform. This will help customers coordinate services, including tracking the arrival of tow trucks and transmitting vehicle data directly to repair facilities.
Bosch also aims to simplify and speed the process by creating digital documents that can be shared with customers, repair shops, technicians and insurance companies. In addition, the integrated app could be tied in with rental car companies, shared mobility services and other third-party providers of related services, such as restaurants and hotels.
