California-based Fisker Inc. is putting its $130,000 EMotion electric sedan on the backburner as it moves forward with a mainstream crossover vehicle now due by the end of 2021.

The yet-to-be-named SUV/crossover has target price of less than $40,000. This would put Fisker’s EV on par with Tesla Inc.’s upcoming Model Y crossover, which is due to start at $39,000 when bows later this year.
A sketch of Fisker’s crossover vehicle is highlighted by a large front air intake, flared wheel arches and distinctive headlights. The company boasts that the vehicle will have class-leading interior space and feature an automated roof system that will provide “an extended open-air environment” at the touch of a button.
The car’s 80-kWh lithium-ion battery will provide an estimated driving range of about 300 miles. Power will come from a pair of electric motors.
