Ford Motor Co. says it is expanding its GoRide Health transport service across the U.S., beginning with a rollout across Ohio.

The service provides non-emergency transportation for patients visits doctors and clinics. Ford has been testing the GoRide Health in southeast Michigan for more than a year. The service will spread to six major cities in Ohio this year, then to Miami, Florida by year-end.

The business will begin operations in California, Louisiana, North Carolina and Texas next year, according to Ford. The company says its proprietary routing technology has enabled GoRide Health to establish a 95% on-time rate this year. Riders typically wait 10-20 minutes for their ride to arrive.
