Ford Opens Union Talks About Job Cuts at German Plant
Ford Motor Co. says it has begun discussions with unions in Germany about possible job cuts at its Saarlouis assembly plant.

Ford Motor Co. says it has begun discussions with unions in Germany about possible job cuts at its Saarlouis assembly plant.
The facilities current builds the C-Max compact MPV, but Ford intends to phase out that model and its Grand C-Max variant. The plant employs 6,200 people.
Ford dropped the C-Max in the U.S. this year. The company notes that the European van market also is shrinking. The company adds that a “very high level of investment” would be required to enable the C-Max to meet coming regulatory standards.
