Carmakers and several major suppliers are discussing plans to develop a single system for operating self-driving vehicles, sources tell Manager Magazin.
The report says the alliance would include BMW, Bosch, Continental, Daimler and Volkswagen.
Pooling resources would help Europe overcome a perceived lag in keeping pace with technological advances in autonomous driving technologies occurring in China and the U.S., Manager says.
