GM Adding Second Shift for Next-Gen Corvette Production

The expansion comes as GM prepares to officially unveil the eighth generation of the iconic sports car on July 18. The current model, which reintroduced the Stingray nameplate last used in 1976, debuted in 2013.
GM has been teasing the C8 ‘Vette, adorned with a camouflaged paint job, in select public venues for the past few weeks. Spy photos of the mid-engine car have been circulating for months.
