General Motors Co. is partnering with three electric vehicle charging service providers to help EV owners in the U.S. find and access stations.
The deals with EVgo, ChargePoint and Greenlots integrates information about more than 31,000 charging stations into GM’s myChevrolet app. The system will allow owners of Chevrolet Bolt electric cars to access real-time data on the location of nearby stations and whether chargers are working, available and compatible with their vehicle.
GM plans to create an app interface for all three networks to streamline charger access. In the future, Bolt owners also will be able to use the app to reserve and pay for charging sessions.
GM expects to finalize the terms of its collaboration and agreements with EVgo, ChargePoint and Greenlots by March. The carmaker plans to launch at least 20 new all-electric and fuel cell-powered vehicles worldwide by 2023.
GM's car-sharing brand Maven Gig already has a partnership with EVgo for its ride-sharing drivers.
