European digital mapping company HERE Global BV has partnered with Chinese counterpart NavInfo Co. Ltd. to extend its mapping, location, routing, traffic and navigation services into the Chinese market.

Amsterdam-based HERE is co-owned by Audi, BMW and Daimler. Under the partnership, mapping data from NavInfo will be made more widely compatible by converting it to HERE’s own global specs.

The HERE-NavInfo partnership comes five days after HERE announced a partnership with Israel-based Continual Experience to enhance Continual’s management tools for mobile network operators. HERE’s cellular and traffic analytics will be added to Continual’s artificial intelligence-based analytics.
