IKEA to Test All-Electric Delivery Fleets by 2020
Furniture retailer IKEA Group says it will use zero-emission trucks to make all deliveries in central Amsterdam, Los Angeles, New York City, Paris and Shanghai by 2020.

Furniture retailer IKEA Group says it will use zero-emission trucks to make all deliveries in central Amsterdam, Los Angeles, New York City, Paris and Shanghai by 2020.
The company said previously it aims to use electric or fuel cell-powered vehicles for all “final-mile” deliveries by 2025. IKEA’s long-term goal is to become “carbon positive” by removing more carbon dioxide than its operations emit.
CEO Jesper Brodin explains that the company plans to locate future stores near subways or other mass transit stations and encourage customers to travel to its outlets by public transit or bicycle.
Those goals are part of corporate targets for 2030 to slash CO2 emissions from IKEA stores by 80%, reduce emissions from deliveries and customer travel by 50% and lower the carbon footprint for its products by an average 70%.
