McLaren Automotive Ltd. officially opened its new composites center in Yorkshire, England, this week.
McLaren Automotive Ltd. officially opened its new composites center in Yorkshire, England, this week.
The $65 million facility, McLaren's second-ever manufacturing plant, will produce carbon fiber monocoque chassis for its future models. The company previously indicated the plant also could make components for other carmakers.
McLaren is prototyping its next-generation carbon tub chassis and plans to launch full production at the plant in 2020. About 200 people are expected to work at the facility by then.
