National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB says it will use autonomous vehicle technology from AutoX for a fleet of electric robo-taxis to be tested in Europe.

The vehicle is inspired by NEVS’ 2017 InMotion driverless concept car (pictured). AutoX will provide the car’s sensors and artificial intelligence-based processing technology.
Initial testing of the vehicles will begin later this year. The pilot program on public roads in Europe is scheduled to start by the end of 2020.
NEVS acquired the assets of bankrupt Saab Auto and that company’s 9-3 sedan platform in 2012. Chinese property developer Evergrande Group purchased a 51% stake in NEVS last January.
Silicon Valley-based AutoX was founded in 2016 by Jianxiong Xiao. The company is testing its technology with several carmakers in pilot programs in California and China.

And while on the subject of the exterior, there are some notable changes—a lower, remodeled hood, repositioned hood vents, new upper and lower front grilles, LED front lights, revised LED taillamps, new rear bumper and fascia.
