PSA Group says it will eliminate another 240 jobs next year at its Vauxhall Astra small car assembly plant in Ellesmere Port, England.
The factory, which once employed about 1,900 workers, saw 400 jobs cut late last year, then another 250 in January. PSA says the latest cutback is necessary to align production with sales forecasts.
Reuters says Vauxhall sales through the first 10 months of 2018 were down 11%. PSA said earlier this year it will decide by 2020 whether to invest in Ellesmere Port or shut down the facility.
