Renault Offers Incentives to Diesel Owners in Germany
Renault SA is offering discounts on its models ranging from €2,000 to €10,000 ($2,300-$11,500) to drivers of older diesel cars in Germany.

Renault SA is offering discounts on its models ranging from €2,000 to €10,000 ($2,300-$11,500) to drivers of older diesel cars in Germany.
Vehicles eligible for the incentives must be equipped with a Euro 5 or older emission control system. Renault says buyers may apply the offer to a new Renault model with any type of powertrain, including a diesel.
Reuters says Renault is the first non-German carmaker to use such incentives to lure the country’s diesel owners. As in other countries, demand for diesel has plummeted in the wake of the Volkswagen diesel emission cheating scandal.
