Renault SA has opened a vehicle test facility in Daegu, S. Korea, its first such center anywhere in Asia.
The facility, located southeast of Seoul, will be used by the carmaker’s Renault Samsung Motors Corp. affiliate to evaluate vehicles that are being developed in and for the Asia-Pacific market.
Renault says the laboratory has capacity to test internal combustion cars, electrics vehicles and autonomous-driving technologies.
Renault created the center through a partnership set up more than a year ago with the city of Daegu and the city’s Korea Intelligent Automotive Promotion Institute.
