Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Nissan, Renault and Suzuki may soon be recalling diesels because of emission concerns in at least three European countries, Bild am Sonntag says.
The German weekly says government regulators in France have raised concerns about emissions from diesel versions of the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur and Kadjar small crossover vehicles. Similarly, authorities in Italy are preparing to order a recall of diesel variants of the Fiat 500x mini-crossover.
The newspaper notes that the Netherlands has already ordered Suzuki Motor Corp. to lower the emission levels of one model.
In June, Germany’s transport ministry ordered Daimler AG to update emission control software in 774,000 diesels to make them cleaner. The ministry issued a similar directive in October involving 95,000 of PSA Group’s Opel diesels.
