PSA Group’s Opel unit will reduce output at two assembly plants in Germany this autumn because of slumping sales, says the Allgemeine Zeitung.
Opel will throttle hourly output at Russelsheim to 42 vehicles from 55, and to 30 units from 37 at Eisenach, according to the newspaper. It says Opel has already reduced throughput at its factory in Gliwice, Poland, to 25 units per hour from 40.
Russelsheim makes the Zafira minivan and Buick Regal, Holden Commodore and Opel/Vauxhall Insignia midsize sedans. Eisenach produces the Karl and Corsa superminis. Gliwice builds the Astra compact car and its Buick/Opel Cascada variants.
