TenCate to Supply Composites for Aston Martin Valkyrie

California-based TenCate Advanced Composites, which is part of Japan’s Toray Group, says it will supply carbon fiber and other composite materials for Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd.’s upcoming Valkyrie hypercar.
Under the contract, TenCate will provide composites used for structural, cosmetic and high-temperature components. The materials will include surfacing films and adhesives, a honeycomb core and TenCate’s pre-impregnated composite fibers. All of the materials will be sourced from TenCate's U.K. facility.
Aston Martin developed the stylish 2-seater, which is built on a carbon fiber structure, with Red Bull Racing. The car’s hybrid powertrain, which includes a 6.5-liter Cosworth V-12 engine, is expected to make more than 1,100 hp.
Production will be limited to 175 vehicles, including 25 track-only AMR variants. Due early next year, the Valkyrie is priced at £2.5 million ($3.4 million).

Mustang Changes for 2018
On Tuesday Ford unveiled—using the social media channels of actor Dwayne Johnson (this has got to unnerve some of the auto buff book editors)—the 2018 Mustang, which has undergone some modifications: under the hood (the 3.7-liter V6 is giving way to a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four, and a 10-speed automatic is available), on the dash (a 12-inch, all-digital LCD screen is available for the dashboard), at the tires (12 wheel choices), on the chassis (MagneRide damper technology is being offered with the Mustang Performance Package), and on the exterior (three new paint colors). And while on the subject of the exterior, there are some notable changes—a lower, remodeled hood, repositioned hood vents, new upper and lower front grilles, LED front lights, revised LED taillamps, new rear bumper and fascia.
