UPS to Test Electric Delivery Truck
United Parcel Services of America Inc. is partnering with Los Angeles startup Thor Trucks Inc. to test a fully electric Class 6 delivery truck.

United Parcel Services of America Inc. is partnering with Los Angeles startup Thor Trucks Inc. to test a fully electric Class 6 delivery truck.
The truck will have a driving range of about 100 miles. Thor will design and built the vehicle’s battery.
The six-month pilot program is expected to begin later this year. UPS will test the electric delivery truck as part of its fleet, including off-road evaluation to address durability, battery capacity and technical integration.
As part of its “Rolling Laboratory,” UPS deploys about 9,300 low-emission vehicles, including all-electric, hybrid-electric, hybrid- hydraulic, ethanol, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas and propane-powered models. In addition to Thor, the package delivery company is working with Arrival, Daimler, Tesla and Workhorse on electrified trucks.
In December, Thor unveiled its prototype electric ET-One Class 8 tractor. That vehicle has a 300-mile range.
