VW Adds Connectivity, Safety Tech to U.S. Lineup
Volkswagen AG says its 2020-model lineup in the U.S. will include more standard safety features, wi-fi and a new telematics system.

Volkswagen AG says its 2020-model lineup in the U.S. will include more standard safety features, the company’s latest telematics system, wi-fi (with a data subscription plan) and optional wireless smartphone charging in select vehicles.

The safety package has automatic emergency braking with pedestrian monitoring, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and rear-traffic alert.
The updated Car-Net telematics system provides real-time traffic updates and allows customers to remotely check the status of certain vehicle systems. The technology also integrates various smartphone features and apps.
Wireless charging will be introduced in the 2020 Jetta, Jetta GLI and Tiguan.
