VW Says All Top Models Are Now WLTP-Certified

Volkswagen AG, which has struggled more than other carmakers to meet Europe’s new emission testing rules, says all 14 of its top-selling models are now compliant and available for sale.
VW’s group sales plunged last month when the company was caught short of completing tests to meet the tougher Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure that took effect on Sept. 1. The new procedure includes real-world emission measurement to help narrow the gap between laboratory and actual emissions under the previous New European Driving Cycle test.
VW warned in June that its planned output this year could be cut by as many as 250,000 units because of testing bottlenecks.
VW said in August that only about half of its core VW-brand models had been WLTP-certified. The brand now predicts that all of its more than 200 model variants will be cleared for sale by the end of the year.
